Thanks, Denny, for your comment. Remembrance Day is actually a memorial day to honour men and women who have served, and continue to serve in the armed forces during times of war, conflict and peace. In many countries, Remembrance Day (also known as Armistice Day or Poppy Day) is observed on November 11th to commemorate the formal ending of World War I “at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.” Our Remembrance Day post was not only to acknowledge those who gave their lives in the war, but also to acknowledge men and women who today serve their respective nations with their lives in the local, national and international armed forces.
